As we await the 7:00 PM start of the 4A Baseball Tournament semifinal game between the #1 seeded Sam Houston Broncos and the Cinderella #20 seed, the Eunice Bobcats, lets look at how these two teams got to Fair Grounds Field this year.

Sam Houston was seeded #1 and pitted against #32 Edna Karr out of New Orleans. The Broncos galloped over Karr 23-1. Next up was Vandebilt Catholic, who was dispatched by the score of 4-3. A quarter final match up vs. Holy Cross, also of New Orleans ended nicely in a 7-1 tally in favor of the Broncos.

Knowing full well that one run was all it took to win a ball game, Eunice needed only 1 in a 1-0 blanking of #5 Tioga to punch their ticket to paradise...the 4A State Baseball Tournament here in Shreveport!

Both Sam Houston and Eunice reside in District 4-4A. These teams have played three games already this year, with Sam Houston winning by a cumulative tally of 43-8. Sam Houston has defeated Eunice by the scores of 27-1, 10-7, and 6-0.
